Cistern 4.0 Experiments
After being unearthed in 2021, Samuel Stubblefield created an immersive performance in the 100-year-old space to prove its value as a truly unique performance venue.
Since the original performance, Stubblefield has been a composer and creative director for multiple performances in The Cistern, working with artists and designers such as Michael Murphy, MASS Design Group, Yasmine Kiss of The New York Meroplotain Opera, Greer Grimsley, Emma Grimsley, J.PERIOD, Sarah Overton, and Beulah Baptist Gospel Choir.
Stubblefield, along with technical lead and lighting designer Ethan Rainbolt, will recreate their original performance, along with expanded explorations that include sculptural elements and other experiments that test the boundaries of the space.
